What is FirstMobile?

FirstMobile is a network independent mobile phone solution that provides financial services and other value added services using the mobile phone and a payment card (Debit – prepaid cards). 

Do I need to have an account with First Bank before I can use the FirstMobile?

Yes. FirstMobile is restricted to First Bank account holders only.

Who is it for?

All First Bank account holders
  • Students of Higher Institution
  • Parents transferring fund to wards and paying of DSTV Bills and other Utility bills
  • Traders transferring fund

Why do I need FirstMobile?

FirstMobile enables you to carry out transactions while on the move. It provides convenience as you can carry out some banking transactions from your mobile phone without getting to the bank branch.

What information do I need to configure FirstMobile on my phone?

Upon successful download of the application on your phone, you will need to set up your account details. Information required will be:
  • Phone number;
  • Card number (i.e. your eTranzact or interswitch card no);
  • Card PIN;
  • Expiry date (on your eTranzact or Interswitch card-MMYYYY) e.g.: 052010
  • Account type (select current or savings)

What transactions can I perform on the FirstMobile?

You can do the following transactions:
  • Balance Enquiries
  • Mini-Statement
  • Airtime purchase/Top
  • Fund transfers (Interbank and intrabank)
  • Change of PIN
  • Bills Payment: DSTV, Zain, PHCN
  • Request for cheque book etc.

Can I make funds transfer to an account in another bank?

Yes

What type of phone can support the application presently?

The application can work on all Java-enabled phones.

Is it user-friendly?

The application is user friendly and easy to use. The Graphical User Interface makes it very friendly to use.

What memory space do I need on my phone to be able to install the FirstMobile?

The application size is less than 100KB.

How much am I charged when I make transfers between accounts?

Transfers to an account within First Bank attracts no charge while transfers to an account in another bank costs N200 only.

How much am I charged when I buy airtime?

No extra charges. You are only charged for the amount of the airtime purchased.

How much am I charged when I do balance enquiry?

This service is free

How much am I charged when I request for a mini-statement?

This service is free

How much am I charged on SMS?

SMS cost is between N10-N30 depending on the network provider.

Is FirstMobile restricted to a particular location or region?

No. FirstMobile can be used anywhere in Nigeria once there is network service on your phone.

How many times can I use the application in a day?

You can use the application as many times as you want daily.

What is the maximum amount that I can transfer?

The maximum that can be transferred via FirstMobile (Etranzact) is N250,000.00 (five times of N50,000) per day and N100,000 daily on FirstMobile (ISW) platform).

What accounts can I use to make transactions on the FirstMobile?

You can use both Current and Savings accounts

If I misplace my phone, what happens to my account?

All transactions on FirstMobile require the subscriber’s PIN. Thus, even if an unauthorised person has possession of your phone, he cannot make any transaction on the FirstMobile unless he knows your PIN

How safe is the application?

All transactions on FirstMobile are PIN protected and the network over which the transactions are carried out is Triple Des secured. The application uses same security as the ATM.
